van God los - een laatste omhelzing
After Bart Drost sets up his presentation "van God los" at MAAS in Nijmegen in 2024 and is about to leave his studio forever, some of the new young residents of the dairy factory drop by for a look.
And then Drost starts talking. About how things are going, how the zeitgeist has evolved, how perspectives have changed, and also about the fact that the principle he, as a young artist, so confidently adopted as the leitmotiv for his art almost 40 years ago no longer seems to work.
That's why he's saying goodbye to it with this exhibition. Against his will, it must be said.
One of the visitors suggests: "So you can actually see this exhibition as a final embrace?" What a wonderful discovery!
In 2025, Drost decides that this final project in his long series of tributes to the paper boys also deserves a booklet, with all the bells and whistles.
