Table lamps, wall lamps, candle holders. Made of wood, copper, porcelain, papier-mâché. All little angels. Bart Drost's childhood home was full of them!
More than 60 years ago, Mr. Schutte made a rubber mold of an angel's head for little Bartje in Venlo, heralding an endless process of reproduction. It's surprising that these plaster heads have never played a significant role in his work. They are stored in a small suitcase. Drost took a series of photographs of the contents of the suitcase and then copied those photographs. First in grayscale with pencil on a small scale, later also on a slightly larger scale with colorful crayons. Three series of 49 angel heads were created this way. The entire project is collected in this booklet...
