Bart Drost

The intention was that participants of Kunstateliers within the GGZ worked together with professional artists. Artist 'from the outside' Bart Drost and artist 'from the inside' Bart W. would start a collaborative project at a location on the grounds of the GGZ Warnsveld.

Due to the measures to combat the corona virus, it turned out to be impossible to carry out the project according to plan. Like so many other projects, it was postponed. Drost suggested to his colleague Bart W. from the Kunstatelier to nevertheless make a start and each to respond to each other's work from their own workshop. One makes a work, sends an image of it to the other by email. He then sends a work (whether or not in response) via email. And so on. Thus it happened and a new series of works is emerging.

A number of the drawings are shown in the Werk(t)café of GGZ-Warnsveld.

It was not easy for Drost, this formula of 'react to each other's work'. The works that Bart W. sent him were so full of themes and subjects and always so detailed that Drost hardly ever managed to respond with just one drawing. That is why he regularly replied with oil pastel drawings in series of 2, 3 or 4.
