trees flowers leafs - amersfoort - 1990

At the event Dutch Visual Art Textile Bart Drost has fitted out three classrooms of the former mavo-school (secundary education) in Amersfoort.

In the room 'Trees' sixteen birch-trunks are dominant. On the walls are hanging little cabinets, varying in size, shape and colour. As if they were birdhouses. In each cabinet a picture of a nude boy is incorporated.

The floor of the classroom 'Flowers' is largely covered bij a tufted woollen carpet. On this carpet a vase cut out of multiply has been dropped. The flowers dropped from the vase make up the pattern in the tufted carpet.

In the darkened room 'Leaves' a tapestry of artificial silk leaves (600x240 cm) is hanging, illuminated with a neon light shaped like the text 'green'.
