Bart Drost

From June 12 to the end of August 2023 in a presentation entitled Kijk! six artists show what moves them in the small showcases of the Valkhof Museum. Bart Drost decided to show a different work in his display case (19x29x25 cm!), under the motto Dream a little dream with me, every Monday of every new week. Unfortunately, this turned out to be too problematic for the Museum: the display cases are closed with a wooden frame and its technical department has no option to remove the frame every week and replace it later.

Specially on the occasion of this showcase presentation, Drost made the work 'small browsing boat'. This work can be seen in the Museum throughout the entire period.

Bart Drost went browsing in his studio and chose a number of works to exhibit in 'his' showcase. Works that touch the essence of his art. Works from decades ago and works from later times. Independent works or works that were previously part of an installation. He photographed these works in the small showcase of the Valkhof Museum on Monday 12 June 2023 and placed them on the website in random order. So all works can still be viewed by visitors via a QR code in the Museum. In the accompanying text to the works in this small showcase of the Museum, he says:
