hang out the flags! - museum van alle tijden - beugen - 2021

This year, the Museum of All Times celebrates its 10th anniversary!

Contemporary art has been on display for 10 years in the smallest and perhaps the most special museum in the Netherlands: the Museum van Alle Tijden in Beugen, Brabant. From 8 May to 27 June 2021, flags of all shapes and sizes will fly around the MvAT. They were made by residents of Beugen and artists who have previously exhibited in the MvAT and in ALARM, the exhibition space next to the MvAT.

In ALARM you can see spectacle cases containing small works of art of ceramics, iron, textiles, glass, wood, porcelain, glitter, three-dimensional prints and more: relics left behind by the exhibiting artists in Beugen.

The flag that Bart Drost made for this occasion is a print of a detail from Goya's painting 'the crucifixion', as he did in a different form in 2015 for the installation 'The Beauty of Suffering' in the exhibition 'The urge to create' in Arnhem With the work of art in the glasses case, Drost connects the period he -also in 2015- worked together with Pim Steinmann and Ans Verdijk in ALARM under the title 'Tanze mit mir in den Himmel hinein' with the project 'Bill, Betsy, Bob and the others' as he presented it in 2012 at  'mindmap' in Venray.
