024-sculpture marathon - MAAS Nijmegen - 2015
In October Bart Drost organized in 'his' MAAS the 024-sculpture marathon. A week long 18 visual artists were guests in his studio and made new sculptures. Together they prepared a new exposition with the them 'love'. Love for the arts, the material, people.
Bart Drost worked with the remains of paintings he made during the last decades. He cut the canvasses out of their frames and made with those frames two new sculptures.
'Thou are the glory' is build up with frames where the sidestrips of te paintings still remained. In the middle is a doubleface lectern; on that there is a cut out piece of a painting.
'feel yourself warm embraced - dedicated to Eline' is made of blank wooded frames. In the middel there is a yellow glazed ceramic pot with a Palm Dracena. the stem of the plant disappears behind the stack of frames.
