birds and flowers - artis den bosch - 1991
The artists invited to participate in this exhibition were given the task of making interventions in two 'pieces of cloth': one printed with birds, the other printed with flowers. One piece was stretched on a framework, the other remained a loose canvas.
Drost painted the loose canvas in blue as a kind of ground cloth and provided it with the text 'Jeder Hirsch schreit nach frisschem Wasser'. He painted the stretched canvas in shades of orange and placed birds carved from wood (copies of the images printed on the canvas) in front. He competed the presentation of these two new works with six gutter format color photos.
